Patrol

The Patrol Division is the most visible and high-profile division of the Sheriff’s Office. Our uniformed deputies respond to calls for service within the county driving marked squad cars. They patrol approximately 543 square miles within Wadena County and serve a population of approximately 14,177. Our deputies also assist the city Police Departments within the county and neighboring agencies with their requests for assistance.

Patrol

Our Patrol Division is currently comprised of 8 full-time deputies, we also have some part-time deputies that assist with Boat and Water patrol, ATV, and Snowmobile Patrol; which is funded through state grants from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). A deputy is typically assigned to weekend shifts in which they patrol area lakes, campgrounds and ATV/Snowmobile trails.

Community Policy Concept
Wadena County remains committed to the concept of community policing: best described as a partnership between law enforcement and citizens of the community. The Sheriff’s Office strives to nurture this relationship through various mediums, including community involvement, education and speaking engagements.

As public servants, law enforcement officers need to be approachable and in touch with their respective communities. The public should feel free to share their thoughts or concerns with the patrol deputies because together, we can make a difference!

Mission
Our mission is to work for you and with you and to do so with HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and PRIDE.
