The Wadena County Veterans Services Officer performs such functions as acting as the veterans' primary advocate and resource and offers a wide variety of essential services for the county's veterans and dependents.  

Services Performed:
  • Counsels veterans about federal and state benefits as well as services to which they are entitled
  • Works with veterans to obtain proper  documentation for applying for veterans benefits
  • Assists veterans with the application forms  required to receive federal veterans benefits
  • Advises veterans about their opportunities and  legal rights relative to various veterans preference laws and regulations
  • Works with various veterans organizations to  provide financial assistance
  • Obtains assistance for medically necessary equipment for disabled veterans
  • Provides assistance to veterans' spouses and/or dependents to receive the various benefits to which they are entitled
  • Helps ensure survivors receive all the burial, death,
    and survivor benefits to which they are entitled
