Patrol

The Patrol Division is the most visible and high-profile division with the Sheriff's Office. Our uniformed deputies respond to calls for service within the county driving marked squad cars. They patrol 565 square miles within Wadena County and serve a population of approximately 13,650. Our deputies also assist the city police department within the county and neighboring agencies with their requests for assistance.

Our division is currently comprised of 5 full-time deputies and 6 part-time deputies. Also included is a Boat and Water, ATV and Snowmobile Deputy; which is funded through state grants from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). One deputy is assigned to weekend shifts to patrol area lakes, campgrounds, and ATV/snowmobile trails.

Community Policy Concept
Wadena County remains committed to the concept of community policing: best described as a partnership between law enforcement and the citizens of the community. The Sheriff's Office strives to nurture this relationship through various mediums, including community involvement, education and public speaking engagements.

As public servants, law enforcement officers need to be approachable and in touch with their respective communities. The public should feel free to share their thoughts or concerns with the patrol deputies because together, we can make a difference!

Mission
Our mission is to work for you and with you and to do so with honesty, integrity and pride.
